Whether exploring the enduring impacts of climate change, the Land Arts movement as a catalyst for contemporary art making, or the ethics behind the memorialization of sites of violence, the work I make consistently examines the relationships between land, memory, and human activity. Materials and processes employed are dependent upon the ideas being investigated, though in recent years the artwork produced has been exclusively lens-based.
My work has been exhibited broadly across the U.S. and internationally at venues in New Zealand, Australia, China, South Korea, Hungary, England, Italy, and Vietnam. I received my BFA in Ceramics from the University of Florida in 2000 and in 2005 I received my MFA in 3D from the University of New Mexico. Since then, I have held a variety of teaching positions, including the University of New Mexico – Gallup, Georgia Southern University, and the University of Oklahoma. I currently teach at Florida State University, where I serve as Chair of the Department of Art.
