Birte is a Norwegian selftaught photographer who has been living in
Ecuador/South America for more than four decades. Her main interest lies in
capturing abstract details in nature to make the beauty of the world visible to
everyone who cares to see and defend it.
In her most recent book POLAR BLUES (2021) she documents the highly
endangered Arctic and Antarctic world and describes the impact caused by
mankind in the span of one century.
She has recently started on experimenting with cyanotype, creating new worlds
with negatives and sunlight, giving chance a chance, watching the ephemeral
beauty after exposure and the final deep blue emerging under the jet of water.
